Januzaj – Ronaldo or Macheda?

Januzaj – Ronaldo or Macheda?

JANUZAJ: OUT OF HIS DEPTH

David Moyes's decision to start Adnan Januzaj for Manchester United at Sunderland on Saturday caused quite the kerfuffle, particularly with fans' favourites Shinji Kagawa and Wilfried Zaha left on the sidelines.

Then the 18-year-old scored two brilliant goals to win the game, and United fans rose to acclaim him.

You forgot about Gheorghe Hagi...

Of course, rival fans were not quite so effusive, canning the Ronaldo parallels and comparing Januzaj to another United 'legend'.

HE SMOKES WHEN HE WANTS

Arsenal's form coming into yesterday's game against West Brom: WWWWWWWDWW. But at 1-0 down at the Hawthorns, it was all too much for some fans.

Jack Wilshere a liability? Surely just a lone disgruntled fan, right?

One Wilshere goal later, and:

More consternation at White Hart Lane, where Tottenham lost 3-0 to West Ham.

Ooh, you name-dropper, you!

OSVALDO: I LOVE IT HERE, BUT I WANT OUT

We leave the Twittersphere for the final act, but we have to share this with you.

Last Thursday, Sky Sports published quotes from Southampton’s Daniel Osvaldo saying he was enjoying the challenge of English football.

Osvaldo said: "In England, football is much more physical than Italian and Spanish, and it is played with an impressive rhythm despite the fact it's less technical than in Spain.”

He added: "My dream is to play at Boca once I go back to play football in Argentina."

All very humdrum – until the same interview appeared in yesterday’s Sunday Mirror under the headline: ‘Southampton's £15million striker Dani Osvaldo considering leaving months after 'dream' move’

The Mirror’s version of the quotes: “Football here is so physical, but it doesn’t have the technique and quality that is has in Spain.

“I’m already thinking about moving back to Argentina. I want to play for Boca, that’s my dream.”
